Jackie and Landon -- Married!
Jackie and Landon were married on June 12th in a backyard ceremony at Landon's parent's house in Kentucky. The day ended up being beautiful despite the 60% chance of rain predicted. I must say that there is a lot to be said about the power of prayer, because I know many people were praying for good weather for their special day. You would think with a 60% chance of rain that you wouldn't even see the sun, but by the ceremony time there were only a few wispy clouds in the sky. It was gorgeous out!
I found this couple through our good friend that's a photographer in Louisville, Tyler. He is a brother-in-law to the groom, so he stood in this wedding, and referred me for the photography. I didn't get to meet Jackie and Landon until the day of, but it felt like we had known each other for a long time almost immediately. They were both very into the photography part of the day, which of course I thrive on, and as a result we were able to get some great pictures throughout the day. Thanks for including me in your day! I hope to get to see you guys sometime again when in Kentucky!! Enjoy!

Kathryn and Jason - Married!!
I have really enjoyed every minute with Kathryn and Jason! They are both such happy people that keep me laughing and smiling the whole time I'm with them. They were married on May 30th at the Roosevelt Hotel, and they came to the studio tonight for their image release party. We had a great time this evening looking back on the journey of the past six months. From engagements, to Kathryn's bridals, to the wedding day, this couple gushed with love and joy all the time; those characteristics come through very clear when you look at their pictures. The wedding day went very smoothly from start to finish. They had the MOST beautiful chuppah ever, created by Urban Earth. It was gorgeous! And the material that was draped across the top of it is Kathryn's grandmother's -- I love sentimental meaning behind the details! As soon as the ceremony ended the Free Agents brass band led everyone down to the Blue Room in a second line. The party was underway from there with dancing the rest of the night. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day! Looking forward to spending more time with you guys!! :)

EE & EE -- Married-- in Hilton Head!
EE + EE = EEEE or LOVE! No, it's not a complicated math problem, but a lot of "E" initials! Eric Evans, also known as EE or Double, now has the beautiful wife Erin Evans -- you can imagine the new nicknames, Quad, E to the 4th, etc. :)
Where to start with this amazing couple? I have known Erin for about 10-12 years, she is the sister of my best friend's husband. (Did you follow me there?) I could honestly say I've watched Erin grow up even though we're only a couple years apart. In that time though I've never seen her this happy. Only a short time after meeting Eric upon arriving in Hilton Head, I knew everything was as it should be with this special pair. They complimented each other in a very unique way. They just seemed to be the last two pieces to a big puzzle -- it was really amazing. It was also incredible to see the love that Erin has for Eric. They just "get" each other. It's great!! (I must add a side note here that it's late, and I'm running on little sleep tonight, yet it seems to make me write more, and I must be feeling mushy too because I'm almost tearing up as I go!! )
I should insert here that Erin and Eric are also from Kentucky, they currently live in Louisville, but they planned an intimate destination wedding with their closest relatives and family in Hilton Head. They both grew up vacationing there, and they both share a love of golf too, so it naturally seemed like the perfect location. It seemed from the beginning without question that Erin wanted me to make the trek out there with them to document everything. It also gave me to opportunity to spend time with my BFF. :) It was such a great time getting to shoot in this scenic area. They were married at the point on the golf course by Harbor Town at Sea Pines Resort. Again, it doesn't get much more perfect for this couple! The weather was great, and the ceremony was beautiful. I'm thrilled with all of the pictures we were able to capture of the wedding party and of Erin and Eric. From our wonderful accommodations, to the golf course, the lighthouse, the trolley, the reception at the house, and the after shoot on the beach -- it was a blast!! I can't stress enough that the more you are at ease with the photographer, the better the pictures -- they completely put their trust in me, and I was able to deliver some fun images for them. (Another side note -- able to deliver after being almost sick Saturday morning with nerves because of personally knowing them for a very long time! :) That's right -- I do still get nervous! Anyone in their right mind would - it's only one of the most important days of your life! ) As soon as I got my camera in my hands though I settled into my groove.
This evening we were able to do an image release party of sorts all the way in Kentucky so that they could view the images the way we do here for our local brides. It was a lot of fun, and they are very pleased. Thanks again Dinah (Erin's mom) for the baked spaghetti and fabulous peanut butter pie!! Thanks for taking me along for the journey guys!! Congratulations!!! xoxox
Carey & Jeremy -- Married!!
Getting to meet Carey and Jeremy and photograph their wedding was just about an act of fate. My brother was supposed to be coming to stay in New Orleans with me to attend a wedding of friends from Kentucky on a Wednesday night. Through Facebook, an old acquaintance that I used to attend church with contacted me and asked if I was still taking pictures. She wanted to try and hook me up with some friends of theirs that were getting married in New Orleans on a Wednesday in May. At this point I thought, "Wait a minute, this has to be the same wedding." And of course it was. So now I had two great referrals for this couple, and they trusted me right away.
We were able to meet shortly after they got to town before the wedding. Within minutes I felt like I had known them for years, maybe it was their easy-going personalities, the southern charm, or simply our hometown connection. I knew that I was going to have a wonderful time with them. I should also add that Carey's sister is getting ready to begin the same program that I took at Western Kentucky for photojournalism, another interesting connection. It just all came together and made for a great new friendship. They come to New Orleans often, so we're planning to get together when they come back.
The couple is often referred to as "Caremy" which I absolutely adore. It doesn't really work too well for CheyAnne and Doug(las) -- let me know if you come up with something witty!! :) For the wedding they got ready at the Royal Sonesta which is where we did their first look and the formals with the family. From there we walked over to the French Quarter W Hotel where they had an intimate ceremony in the courtyard. It was my first time in their courtyard, and it was awesome. I love the steps to where they said their vows, the fire fountain in the middle, and the cabanas all around the courtyard. It was a great fit to their personalities.
It rained for a little bit after the ceremony pushing us inside for a few minutes, but we were eventually able to venture back outdoors -- it didn't stop the party! At the end of the night, Carey looked more like Carrie Bradshaw in her stunning "after" dress. A shorter white dress with a belt, hot pink shoes, earrings, and a necklace she found at Canal Shops that day -- which I still want to go look for!! From the fashionable wedding dress to the after party outfit and everything in between, Carey and Jeremy, excuse me, Caremy -- were wonderful!! Thanks you guys! Looking forward to meeting up again soon! Enjoy!!

Betty and Jon - Married!!
Betty and Jon were married in an intimate ceremony in Jackson Square on May 22nd. The ceremony was lovely, as are this couple. They are so sweet with one another, you can definitely feel the love between them after only spending a few minutes together. They live in Florida, but we were able to meet a few days before the wedding which is always nice because I get to see how they interact with one another.
After the ceremony they had their first dance under the trees which I thought was quite romantic. ;) We then took all the formal pictures, and then I was able to take the couple off for awhile to do some images with just the two of them. It was pretty hot out by this time, but we were able to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. We finished up on Royal St. and then they headed into The Court of Two Sisters for an afternoon of good food with their families.
Thanks for letting me capture your New Orleans wedding. It was a pleasure!!! :) Enjoy!

Alissa & Jonathan - Married!!
Alissa and Jonathan were married May 15th at the St. Louis Hotel in the French Quarter. It was a courtyard ceremony, and it did pour that day, but luckily the St. Louis does have the cover that made it almost unnoticeable that it was raining, except of course for the thunder during the ceremony! All in all, it turned out to be a beautiful day with a beautiful couple. Alissa and Jonathan were both very laid back and had a lot of fun at the reception. I "love" the sparkler shot we got at the end! Hope you guys like it too, it will be a nice surprise for you! ;) Enjoy!

Meet Brittany and Ben!
Brittany and Ben will also be married this October on the 2nd at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Thibodaux. I had a great time with them during our shoot. I often ask couples to do what I call an "almost kiss." It was so cute because Ben had a hard time not kissing her when I'd ask them to do this. The even cuter part is that they've been together for 7 or 8 years, so it's always nice to see a couple still that into each other after that long! :)
Ben proposed to Brittany the night after Christmas when they were in New Orleans, and even had a poem he wrote called "The Night After Christmas." I may have to ask Brittany for permission to post it on here because it's amazing. The fence that you'll see with the red wall was where they stopped when they were walking around that night, and he proposed there. ;) I just love engagement stories!!
We wrapped up the shoot around the dome because they wanted to sport their Saints attire. We had fun goofing off around there for some fun photos. Enjoy!

Meet Tori and Phillip
Tori and Phillip will be getting married October 22nd at the Pavillion of Two Sisters in City Park. We recently photographed their engagement session in the Quarter. Even though we haven't hit June yet, it was quite humid that day. Luckily, we opted for the morning hours, so it was still bearable. It was cute because they started out a little nervous, but were having a great time by the end. Tori sent me a message the next day saying that they had fun, but they were exhausted after! Everybody always seems to have new respect for models after being on that side of the camera. ;) I loved their idea to also go to Plum Street Snowballs for pictures. And I got to have my first snowball there; I'm usually a Hansen's gal all the way! The ladies at Plum St. were great, they even gave Tori and Phillip matching t-shirts that they sported for the last few pictures. It was a great treat to wrap up the shoot!

Julia and Brock -- Married!
Julia and Brock were married on April 17th at the St. Louis Cathedral with a second line by Dr. Jazz to the Omni Royal for the reception. Both Julia and Brock are very detail-oriented, we had a timeline that was crazy organized! :) And for the most part we were able to stick to it throughout much of the day. They allowed plenty of time in the schedule for us to get some great images of the two of them, as well as the entire bridal party. I'm always like a kid in a candy store when I get that much time for pictures! I must say that I am very pleased with the images we were able to capture. I have many favorites, but two that come to mind are one of the ones of them walking down the street together, and the other of them walking through the saber arch right outside the cathedral -- that one may be because that was my first saber arch. ;)
Thank you for allowing me to tell the story of your day. It has been a pleasure working with you guys and your families too!
Enjoy!!

Jeannie and Ron -- Married!!
Jeannie and Ron were married at White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge last month. She was able to come in this evening for her image release party to view her images on the big screen at the studio, so now I can release their pictures to you! I love the vibrant colors from their day. Jeannie and Ron were very cute together, both always laughing together. Ron has this great big smile when he laughs that I love. I am very fond of pretty eyes and great smiles. :)
They had a special surprise for everyone at the reception. Ron loves music, and often writes his own little tunes. Jeannie and Ron have a song of theirs that's called, "You, Me, and the Cat." If I recall correctly, I believe the song was also part of the proposal. It was the cutest song! I thought of Phoebe from Friends with the songs she used to sing. ;p Their cat is also named Football. (You'll see a few pictures of Football in their images.) Doug and I were singing the song for at least the next week because we have a cat too. It was very catchy -- I have it stuck in my head again now, but I only know about one line!
Thanks for letting me capture your day. It was a pleasure working with you both! Enjoy!

Catherine in the Big Easy!
Wow!! Talk about a great, fun-tastic afternoon!! I adopted Catherine as my little sister when we used to work together in the summers. She has the cutest, sweetest, fun-loving spirit. We've kept in touch and we still get together for girl's nights. A couple of weeks ago we decided to play around and just shoot some really fun, funky, edgy, beautiful pictures. Doug and I had a blast shooting around each other. We were both shooting with the same light, yet both getting completely different results. That was the even more thrilling part. He was going dark and moody, I was letting the light go bright and crazy. We were like kids in a candy store. I wish we'd have started an hour sooner because we definitely could have kept going. We also got a few shots with her boyfriend as well. I love the one of them by the car. It looks like it could be the poster for some Bonnie and Clyde movie. Thanks again for letting us play around. I'm looking forward to bringing some of this funky to my upcoming shoots. I'll be posting more of these as individual images when I launch the new blog (which hopefully will be in the next week or two!!). For now though, here is a slideshow with some of my favorites.

Eve and Brian - Engaged!
I met Eve at a bridal show in January, and shortly after she contacted me about doing an engagement session for her and Brian. They have actually decided to have their wedding around home in Ohio, but wanted their engagement session to be photographed here in the city. Eve knew that she wanted to take some photos with the LOVE statue in the sculpture garden at City Park. I had tried going there three different times with another couple of mine, but it was always closed or under renovations -- so I was very excited to finally get to go. The sculpture garden area was incredible!! I'm looking forward to going out there and enjoying it very soon. I want to get in one of the boats and float around too. Anyway, we were able to get what we needed there, and then we headed to the Warehouse District. Again, it was still French Quarter Fest, so we thought we'd have less people in that area. We were right, we didn't have any issues. And Tim Robbins even rode between us during our shoot. I was so engrossed that I looked right at him with his sheriff star on his hat, and didn't realize who it was until Eve and Brian asked if I knew who it was!
I hope you guys had a great time -- hopefully we can do a post-session in the city after the wedding!! Enjoy!

Jennifer and Matthew -- Married -Already! :)
On April 10th I photographed Jenn and Matt's stateside reception at the Maison Dupuy. Their official wedding was in the Bahamas in March. Unfortunately, they did not have the best weather in the Bahamas - it actually poured the day of their wedding. Since they weren't able to maximize on the weather there, Jenn definitely wanted to take advantage of the wonderful weather we were having here. We had about an hour to roam the Quarter before their reception started. It was also French Quarter Festival weekend, so the Quarter was quite busy. We made do though, and ended up with some great pictures. We even managed to get a nice shot of them walking on Bourbon. I'm still not sure how that one happened because there were people everywhere!

Stacy and Boomer -- Married!!
Stacy and Boomer were married March 27th in Algier's in a beautiful, intimate, backyard ceremony. I loved the closeness of the whole day! Her brother and sister-in law are both chefs, so they were busy all afternoon preparing a delicious feast for everyone! Both dads were busy helping with the tent decorations earlier in the afternoon. It was such a great family affair to bring these two together. You could also tell their group of friends have probably been around for many moons. There was a very fun, yet relaxed ease to the day. I truly felt like a guest of their reception by the end of the night. :) Speaking of the end of the night...I was lucky enough that we ended up catching the same ferry back across the river, so we got some fantastic shots (and a few goofy ones) with the city in the background. Thanks for being such a crazy fun couple you guys! Enjoy!

Lisa and Jared -- Married!!
Lisa and Jared were married March 19th at Royal Villa in Raceland. Their wedding was a lot of fun; the reception a blast! And I still love their accents! Lisa looked beautiful in her dress, as did her mini-me -- her precious daughter! I also loved Jared's socks, if you look closely you'll see what they were. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day. Enjoy the pictures!!
Nikki and Robert -- Married!!
Nikki and Robert were married on March 20th at the Maison Dupuy in New Orleans. It was a destination wedding for them, but we were able to meet a few days before the wedding. They were both very laid back, and just wanted to have a nice party to celebrate their marriage. I thought Nikki's dress was absolutely perfect for her, and I love, love, loved the red shoes. Even the comfy ones that she changed into after the ceremony! :) Thanks for a stress-free day guys, I hope you love the pictures! Enjoy!

Meet Leah and Justin!
We recently took Leah and Justin's pictures in the Quarter. The night that Justin proposed they had dinner first at the Court of Two Sisters -- we got a great silhouette of them in the entryway! And afterwards they had gone up by the river, we also got some cute ones of them in that area. And the yellow wall areas were my favorite! They looked so good with what they were wearing. Looking forward to October you guys! Enjoy!

Brandi and Jerome -- Married!
Brandi and Jerome were married on March 6th at Lafayette Square, with their reception at Gallier Hall. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding! They also set a record for my largest wedding party!! It all went very smooth though, even the kids did great. The reception was a ton of fun too with the dance floor going until the very end. Enjoy!

Kelly and Dale --Married!!
I actually did not get to meet Kelly and Dale until the day of their wedding because they live in Nashville. Everything went great though; they were very laid back, and just ready to have a good time. Their ceremony was at the Pharmacy Museum on Chartres. It was my first time there, and I found it very quaint and intimate. I love the bead decorations that Kelly and them did prior to the ceremony. I thought it was a great touch. After the ceremony they second lined to the Bourbon Vieux on Bourbon St. for the reception. It was quite a party....and I'm sure a good time was had by all! When it wrapped up everyone went across the street to Chris Owens where we got a few more funny images. From there I know the party continued at The Beach, and then I'm not sure where after that. I love when a bride goes out on Bourbon after the wedding in her dress! Thanks for a great day guys!

Melanie and Quang -- Married!!
Melanie and Quang have been a true joy to work with! They are both super sweet and extra cuddly with one another. My heart was constantly melting when I was taking pictures of them together because of the way they looked at one another, overflowing with unconditional love. The wedding went great, and everybody showed up, even though the Saint's were in the first round of the playoffs! ;) We actually have a few pictures of the girls cheering the Saints on, and Melanie was listening to the game in the limo while waiting to come into the church.
Melanie told me yesterday her favorite part of the day was the ceremony which goes to show how sentimental she is. We had a lot of traditional pictures to take at the reception for Quang's family, as it is tradition in their family to toast each table, which I thought was a nice way to get to see everyone. We were also able to do a post session after the wedding with the two of them so that they would have plenty of great images of them together, and also because it was thirty degrees outside when we did Melanie's bridals!! We had such a wonderful time at the after session -- it was very relaxing! We didn't have to worry about dirtying up the dress or being rushed. They even climbed into one of the paddle boats out at the park!! Thanks for being so fun you guys!!

Meet Heidi and Jeremy
Heidi and Jeremy will be married this November. When I met with Heidi and her mom about a month ago everything just clicked; it was such a great first meeting, and I can tell they have a very open, warm family. I'm really looking forward to working with them this year. Seeing Heidi with Jeremy was also adorable. They both look so cute together, and I could tell that Jeremy is kinda protective of her too, which I think is very sweet. We had a good time walking around the quarter shooting, we got one of the better weather days recently, but by the end it was getting a bit chilly. They actually had dinner at Muriels the night Jeremy proposed, and then they walked by the river after which was where he popped the question. Heidi's parents were hiding behind the trees documenting the whole event. I love the shot we got of them framed by the trees because it helps portray the way it happened. Enjoy the pictures you guys!!

Meet Brandi and Jerome
Brandi and Jerome will be married in Lafayette Square in March, which is where we also decided to take their engagement photos. They also brought along their little cutie, Roman, to take some pictures with him too. It was a bit cool that day, so we worked quickly, but still got some great moments with them. I love some of the ones with the three of them, and then the one with Brandi and Jerome kissing on the bench is one of my favorites of late. It just has such a romantic, tender feeling to it. I'm looking forward to the wedding you guys! Enjoy the pictures!

Revée and Philip -- Married!! .....awhile ago!
Revée and Philip were actually married last July, and they were one of my first image release parties here at the studio which was why I had to revert to my other software for the slideshow. Which is also why there is a direct link to theirs. I apparently had forgotten to post the link after.......very sorry guys!!
You can find them at www.bradfieldphotography.com/dufrenewedding
The wedding was a ton of fun, and both of them were awesome to work with from the day I met them. The reception was also quite a party! Thanks for a wonderful time, it makes my work not seem like work!! ;) Looking forward to getting your album to you this week!
Meet Stacy and Boomer!
Stacy and Boomer will be married this March in a quaint backyard, beautiful tent ceremony in Algiers. I'm really looking forward to the intimate size of this wedding. I know it's going to be a lot of fun! Their engagement shoot went well, we were all recovering from the Saints win the day before against the Cardinals. (I actually had a wedding, but was still oh so excited!) Boomer is also a football coach, so he has lots of love for the game. We did most of their session at City Park, but then they taught me a few new places down by the Bywater area. I love the colorful wall spot, and I also am particularly fond of the shots in front of the dump. Maybe it's just the contrast of the love and affection against all the junk. Weird? Take a look, see what you think. :) Enjoy!

Kathryn and Jason -- Engaged!!
I had so much fun with Kathryn and Jason. I think they laughed through the entire shoot!! Which meant I laughed the whole time too. My cheeks were hurting when we finished!! :) We did most of their session on Canal St., and we did some at the Roosevelt Hotel where they will be getting married. We ended the day with a streetcar ride back to the cars. Turns out, it was Jason's first streetcar ride ever! So of course it was documented with some fun pictures of the two of them. After the shoot Jason called me to arrange to get a print the next week for Kathryn's birthday......how incredibly sweet!!! :)

Michelle and David -- Married!!
I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the year than with Michelle and David. They have been a blast to work with from the beginning. They were one of my openly affectionate couples this year, which of course I thrive on!! ;) I just love the way they look at each other, it's adorable! From the fun engagement session to the bridals -- who can forget the rainbow? -- to the wedding, it's been an incredible journey. I'm so thankful that you trusted me to capture these memories for you. Michelle and I are already talking about the other pictures we'll do down the road of maternity and family pictures. And I just may have to call on Michelle to be my personal shopper for a day because she always looks so cute and fashionable. Congrats you guys!!!

Frannie and Doug -- Married!!
It's been very fun working with Frannie and Doug and getting to know their families too. I really love Thibodaux weddings because the receptions never disappoint!! Their reception was crazy with a lot of fun pictures for them to remember it by. :) Congratulations you guys!!
