SNOW IN NEW ORLEANS!!!! :)

WOW! I was so excited when my dad, of all people (he's in Kentucky!), called to tell me to look out the window this morning.  At first it looked like rain, and then with a closer look, I saw SNOW!!  And within the next few minutes, large snowflakes were pouring down!  I felt like a little kid again.  I was so excited that it was snowing, here, in New Orleans!  After our initial shock, Doug and I quickly dressed in several layers and went out to take a few photos.  Had we waited much longer we would have missed it.  By the time we went back to the car it had turned to rain.  But this first image is my favorite from the morning!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season!! I promise to post some wedding images soon!

FREE WEDDING PACKAGE!!! -- CONTEST RULES

Good Morning Everyone!!  I'm getting ready to leave for the Weddings In Style Bridal Show at the Royal Sonesta in just a few hours, where I will begin promoting the FREE WEDDING PACKAGE CONTEST!!! 

Here's how it will work:

-The couple must be getting married between January 2009 and February 2010, and of course, it cannot be a date that I am already booked.  (You can view my availability on the calendar link on the site.)  Please include the wedding date in the submission.

-Please submit an email explaining why the couple is so deserving.  This could include adorable love stories, unique ways of how the couple met, obstacles they've overcome, or anything extremely romantic.  

-You can enter yourself, or a deserving couple you may know getting married.  Please make these letters good -- I want to laugh and cry.  :)  I want to feel like I know the couple by the time I'm finished reading.  

-Please submit a picture of the couple together.

-The couple must feel comfortable having their entry posted on this blog.  

-The contest starts today and the deadline for entries is December 20, 2008.

-Three finalists will be selected and posted on December 23, 2008.

-The winner will be announced on December 25, 2008.

WELCOME!!

Welcome Everyone!! I am excited and nervous as I embark into this new world of blogging.  It's been on my to-do list for awhile, and today I finally take the plunge.  I've thought about the best way to begin the blog, and I finally figured it out.  What better way to start than with one of my best friend's weddings! I was not the photographer though because I was in the wedding.  Trust me, she tried to get me to, but I just couldn't do both! :)  However, I did find her a good replacement --my significant other is also a photographer -- so she was in excellent hands.  Our friend Tyler also met us in Alabama to help shoot the wedding.  It was weird for me at first to be on the other side of the lens, but I settled in after a little while.  It was a wonderful four day weekend from start to finish, I'd love to do it all over again.  So here are some pictures from the weekend.  She was married on October 18th at an overlook in Alabama where her and Stu had their first date, and where he proposed....awww!  So sweet, huh?   (Huge thanks to Doug with Artisan Style Photojournalism  and Tyler with Lighting His World, you guys did a FANTASTIC job with the pictures!!! Thank you!!)
